Nearly 14,000 people, adults and children, participated at the 9th edition of Raiffeisen Bank Bucharest Marathon, which took place on 8th – 9th October 2016 in Constitution Square.
Optim PM Team ran this year for Climb Again Sports Club Association from Bucharest. The association’s mission is to encourage and support children, youth and adults with special needs, regardless of ethnicity, religion, race or social status, to practice climbing as a method of therapy for disability, developing life skills and social integration.
Our colleagues – Olimpia Nicolae, Violeta Simion, Daniel Vilciu and Marius Leonte – are optimistic people and they like to run. They chose to run for Climb Again in order that some of the children with disabilities, who have made from climbing a passion, to be able to participate this autumn to the British Para Climbing Championship.
After representing in 2015 Optim PM at the marathons, our colleague Marius Mocancea participated also this year at the Bucharest Marathon, this time in the 21 km race. As most participants, Marius does not run a marathon to win, more important is the personal finish time and the placement within the specific gender and age group, though some runners just want to finish.
Optim PM Team was ranked among top 200 out of 800 teams at Raiffeisen Bank Bucharest International Marathon. We would like to congratulate our colleagues for the good work and also to encourage others to aid the ones who need help.
