Office fit-out project for Citi Romania

An iconic office building, Tiriac Tower, has been chosen by Citi Romania to relocate its 200 employees, as an important step to its clear path to Net Zero until 2030. Optim Project Management supported Citi to apply its vision in terms of creating the proper environment for its team’s hybrid way of working. Having been appointed in 2018 to manage the construction of the office tower – with Project Management, Cost and Commercial Management, Claims Management and Health & Safety Coordination – being part of the management team for the fit-out project for one of the building’s tenants was a natural continuation for our team.

With a GBA of 1,860 sqm spread on one floor, with office areas, meeting rooms, meeting pods and conversational areas, standalone offices and IT rooms, the project was an opportunity to optimize the space for the highest results and create a working environment that is best fitted for our client: a modern, collaborative and flexible space. Our Project Management and Cost Management services harmonized all the acquisition procedures and parties involved and coordinated operations and teams for the benefit of our client.

Challenges were numerous in this specific project. Because the client operates as a bank, there were strict rules to be respected, regarding space optimization and solutions to be implemented – in terms of furniture, partitioning and space utilization. Time was the essence, as Citi operations were deeply dependendant on the move-in date.

“We were fortunate to have in our client a real member of our team; they knew exactly what space they need to feel at ease and deliver their best performances, they had the flexibility to consider our choices, and we succeeded together to personalize the space to best suit the people working in it” – Alina Barbu, Project Manager at Optim Project Management.

With an active presence in nearly 160 countries and on the Romanian market since 1996, Citi serves around 200 million customer accounts worldwide.
