Optim Project Management to manage the refurbishment process of Athénée Palace Hilton
Ana Hotels appointed Optim Project Management to project manage the refurbishment process of Athénée Palace Hilton, which started at the end of last year.
Located in the vibrant heart of Bucharest, the sophisticated and prestigious hotel was built in 1914, and in 1965 it was extended with a new wing away from the street to accommodate in total 272 luxurious rooms: 113 guest rooms, 46 deluxe rooms, 56 executive rooms, 41 junior suites and 16 suites. Athénée Palace Hilton is the first major landmark in Bucharest made with reinforced concrete, and witnessed unforgettable moments in history, from WWII to big earthquake in 1977 and revolution in 1989. Kings, queens, presidents, Hollywood celebrities and World War figures have passed through its doors, the English Bar, the Brasserie and the Restaurant at Athénée Palace were the venues most frequented by them.
The current renovation of the historic luxury hotel is carried out in two phases, the first one already started, and consists of the renovation of 132 rooms and adjacent corridors in the East wing and is following the Concept Design made by Alexander James Interiors, UK.
“Working around a fully functional hotel in the heart of Bucharest is a challenge, however, Optim PM has extensive experience in delivering hospitality projects, both successfully and safely. It is a great pleasure to work during these challenging times with a Client who understands and demands real quality services and finishes to be implemented during the refurbishment process of his emblematic hotel. We are delighted to have been chosen as Project and Cost Manager for this project and happy to provide consistency, visibility and service excellence for Athénée Palace Hilton”, concluded David Evans, CEO Optim Project Management.
The whole refurbishment process of Athénée Palace Hilton will be completed by the end of May 2022.
