Hornbach Cluj-Napoca, the second DIY store to be delivered by Optim Project Management in Romania
Optim Project Management is set to deliver the second DIY store in Romania for Hornbach, as the successful reception with the authorities takes place in Cluj-Napoca.
The company was appointed by Hornbach Romania in mid-2020 as project manager for the new development, following the 12,000 sqm DIY store delivered by Optim Project Management to the German retailer in Oradea in the same year.
The German DIY store chain Hornbach is developed in Cluj-Napoca on a land of approx. 4.10 ha and will cover a gross built area of approx. 11,400 sqm. The development will offer 2,980 sqm Drive-in area and will benefit from a green area of approx. 6,142 sqm and around 335 parking places.
“The reception with the authorities is a major milestone for Hornbach Cluj-Napoca and we are excited about the opening which will happen in just a few weeks. The Optim Project Management team has worked very hard in the last year to deliver the second DIY store. As always, I am very proud of our project management team, and I would like to thank them all for their work and dedication throughout the entire project”,
said David Evans, founder and owner of Optim Project Management.
Optim Project Management performed a Technical Due Diligence for Hornbach prior to land acquisition and during the construction period was contracted to provide project management services, including cost & commercial management, site Inspection and health and safety coordination.
The opening date of Hornbach Cluj-Napoca is scheduled to take place in summer 2021.
The Cluj-Napoca development is Hornbach’s fifth DIY store outside of Bucharest and the eighth to open in the country. Optim Project Management also delivered to Hornbach a 12,000 sqm building in Oradea in autumn 2020. The full scope of services consisted of technical due diligence, general design, permitting, project management, cost & commercial management, site inspection and health and safety coordination. In addition, Optim Project Management performed a technical due diligence report prior to land acquisition in Constanta and currently is providing general design and permitting services for a new Hornbach store in the region.
