Optim PM assists IKEA in opening the largest store in SEE
Optim Project Management has completed its work on the new IKEA Pallady, the second store in Romania and the largest in South Eastern Europe, which has opened its doors to the public on 24th June 2019.
IKEA new store is located on Theodor Pallady Boulevard on a 13.7 ha and has a total gross built area of almost 66,000 sqm. Besides the furniture area, the store provides a 569-seat restaurant, a bistro and delicacies shop, a playground for children, 800 sqm greenhouse in the Market Hall and a cafe area designed as a meeting space for visitors. IKEA Pallady benefits of 1,351 parking places and charging stations for electric cars.
Optim PM was involved in this project from the very beginning being appointed by IKEA Romania to perform a technical due diligence of the aforementioned plot in order to assist them with the land acquisition. During the entire project period, Optim PM has provided Project Management, Cost Management, Design Management, Tendering and Procurement, Health & Safety Coordination and Site Inspection (Dirigentie de Santier) services. Additionally, Optim PM assisted IKEA Romania during the entire construction period to comply with BREEAM requirements and currently is managing the certification process of the store, aiming to receive an “Excellent” rating.
